Flagship projects
The "Est Rus Fort Tour" Project
This project on joint development of tourism, conducted between 2006 and 2008 within the framework of the Interreg IIIB Baltic programme, has ensured the development of the cultural and historical heritage of the castles situated in both towns. It was aimed at preparing a joint bid for the cross-border tourist site for UNESCO World Heritage Site status. It also enabled the realisation of a joint protection plan for the area around the castles.
The “Narva River Water Routes” project
This project, carried out in the framework of the Interreg IIIC programme, enabled the development and promotion of tourism on waterways in in the Narva river basin and the integration of Narva-Ivangorod in the Baltic Small Harbours Network. This project contributed to the improvement of port infrastructure (creation of a marina) and the realisation of tourism products (brochures, website).
Ivangorod-Narva Business Cooperation Network – "IvNarBC.net"
This project, launched in 2007, aims to identify and develop the industrial zones in Narva and Ivangorod to allow the establishment of new businesses.
Joining the “City Twins” network
Member of the "City Twins" network since the establishment of the association in 2006, the Narva-Ivangorod conurbation hosted its Annual General Meeting in 2009. The aim of the "City Twins", a network of cross-border twin cities in north-eastern Europe, is to promote the exchange of best practices in the areas of local administration, education, culture, social affairs, economic development and cross-border cooperation.
