    Who wins the 2022 EGTC award of the Committee of the Regions?

    The 2022 EGTC prize "Building Europe across borders" of the European Committee of the Regions was awarded on November 24th, 2022 during the EGTC Platform in Liberec to an Italian-Slovenian EGTC: the "EGTC GO".

    On 18 December 2020, the border towns of Nova Gorica (Slovenia) and Gorizia (Italy) were designated “European Capital of Culture 2025”. This 100% cross-border candidacy represents a historic milestone for this competition: for the first time, the candidacy and the joint urban and cultural development project were steered by an EGTC in all of the phases of this long process.

    To mark its 20th anniversary, the MOT produced a map of European cross-border territories. Now, on the occasion of its 21st General Assembly, it is publishing – and has had printed in the form of a large poster – a map showing the cross-border territories along France's borders.

More than70 million citizens will reap the benefits of a closer cooperation between regions and countries in terms of research and innovation, SME support, mobility, tourism, environmental protection and energy resources management.
