Le Pilier Sciences de la Région Métropolitaine Trinationale du Rhin supérieur, en collaboration avec l'Euro-Institut et le Centre d'excellence Jean Monnet de l'Université de Strasbourg, organise ce printemps un cycle de formations tripartite en ligne sur les systèmes de l’enseignement supérieur, de la recherche et du transfert en France, en Allemagne et en Suisse avec un focus sur le Rhin supérieur.

Conference: "Border Region Academy: Border regions of Germany with its neighboring countries"

Germany's border regions in comparison: What are important trends? What opportunities and options arise? What does 'European Cohesion' mean for border regions?

Conference: "Living in Border Regions – Tackling the challenges"

Organised by the European Cross-Border Citizen's Alliance (CoR, AEBR, MOT and CESCI). Despite decades of European integration, legal and administrative obstacles in border areas continue to exist, and new ones are created. With the Regulation on the European Cross-Border Mechanism blocked in the Council of the European Union, this conference will look into issues the citizens, local administrations and businesses encounter and why having a tool to address such challenges is necessary.

Conference: "Cities and Metropolises in France and Germany"

Organised by the ARL (Academy for Territorial Development in the Leibniz Association). with a round-table moderated by Jean Peyrony, Director-general of the MOT.

Training: "Le DG transfrontalier : quelle stratégie pour le développement des territoires frontaliers ?"

In French only. Pour ces deux journées, le CNFPT et la MOT s'associent et proposent aux cadres dirigeants des collectivités, ainsi qu'à l'ensemble du réseau de la MOT, un atelier de réflexion et d'échanges de pratiques autour de plusieurs thématiques : la gouvernance multi-niveaux des territoires transfrontaliers, la conception de politiques publiques à dimension transfrontalière, le "transfrontalier du quotidien". La formation laissera place à l’expression des participants et se situera dans une dynamique prospective.

Seminar: "Espaces frontaliers, entre attractivité et dépendance : Quel rôle pour la mobilité et quelle prise en compte par les politiques publiques ?"

[In French only] La compréhension des interactions entre les mobilités et le développement des territoires est un élément déterminant de l'efficacité des politiques publiques, notamment en matière d'attractivité. En particulier, quels sont les facteurs d'équilibre ou de déséquilibre qui peuvent marquer les relations entre les territoires ?

Organised by the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH, Universität Luxemburg) and the Transfrontier Euro-Institut Network (TEIN), the event aims to shed light on research that focuses on the spatial as well as on the temporal dimension of borders, borderlands, and border regions. The conference seeks to connect leading researchers as well as established and early-stage researchers to present, share and discuss their research on borders, borderlands, and border regions in and beyond 19th and 20th century Europe.
