A decree that came into force on April 1st, 2025 changes the criteria for reasonable job offers (ORE) for cross-border workers in France. From now on, they will have to accept a job offer based on salaries in France, rather than those in their previous country of employment.
April 11th 2025 marks an important milestone for Franco-Belgian cooperation: the official creation of the Sambre-Avesnois Sud-Hainaut cross-border assembly. The MOT was present for this inauguration, which followed the signing of a cooperation agreement*.

March marked an important milestone for the Alcotraité project on cross-border obstacles between France and Italy. The three territorial workshops organised by the Mission Opérationnelle Transfrontalière (MOT) and the partner regions in collaboration with the six ALCOTRA PITER+* enabled the project to get to the heart of the matter by mobilising more than 150 participants from the northern to the southern ends of the French-Italian land border.

The 19th session of the Franco-Swiss border dialogue was held on March 13th in Lausanne at the International Institute for Management Development. This event, which brings together national and local administrations from the border area on an annual basis, provided an opportunity to take stock of the main cross-border cooperation issues.
On March 27th and 28th, the Interreg GO! Event was held in Gorizia (Italy) and Nova Gorica (Slovenia), the first cross-border European capital of culture. The event, which also celebrated 35 years of Interreg, provided an opportunity to reflect on the future of cohesion policy post-2027, in a context marked by profound geopolitical and territorial upheaval.
On March 20th; 2025 in Pamplona, representatives of the AFOMEF presented the six cross-border projects selected to receive €14.8 million in ERDF funding.
The bill approving the Franco-German agreement on cross-border apprenticeships was passed in France on 13 February. Already ratified in Germany in July 2024, this agreement makes it easier for French and German apprentices to complete their practical training in companies on the other side of the border (on the German side in the Länder of Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland).
