In the Franco-German region of Strasbourg-Kehl, the municipalities are in the process of implementing a flagship cross-border cooperation project for the extension of urban heating networks. Soon, the waste heat from the local steel mill will supply thousands of households on both sides of the Rhine.

On September 19th, 2022, the MOT organised a meeting to launch the "cross-border living areas experiment" project. The objective is to define the concept of "cross-border living areas" and to analyse the needs and expectations of the territories concerned, as well as the legal opportunities and obstacles, in order to arrive at recommendations.
On 23 September 2022, the closing ceremony of the project "PAMINA Care Services" took place. Concrete and promising results were presented by the PAMINA Eurodistrict, the project leader, as well as by the project partners (hospitals, health insurance funds, ARS, Landkreise, etc.).
On October 14th, the Prefect of Moselle gathered the Local Committee for Territorial Cohesion (CLCT). On this occasion, a participatory approach was proposed to the various participants, via the organisation of five working groups, the objective of which was to identify the engineering needs of local authorities, the existing solutions, and to promote the exchange of good practices and feedback from the field.
As a further step towards the construction of the European electricity network, a new 190 km EHV line, entirely underground, is being built between Savoy and Piedmont. It will increase the electricity exchange capacity between France and Italy by 40%.
Following the modification of the French sports code (article L231-2-1) by the 3DS law of February 21st 2022, sportsmen and women residing abroad, and in particular in a country bordering France, no longer need to present a medical certificate when registering for a sports competition organised partly in a French border department.

On October 6th and 7th, the Assises Nationales du Foncier et des Territoires were held in Nancy. With its 150 km of borders and its position at the heart of Western Europe, our territory has a long history of cross-border cooperation, reinforced by the creation of the Basque Country Community in 2017.

The summer of 2022 marked the launch of two parallel missions for the MOT concerning the territory of the Hautes Vallées Conference (CHAV) at two different territorial levels.
This strategy, adopted by the Region on June 24th, 2022, takes place in the context of strengthened cooperation between France and Italy since the signing of the Quirinal Treaty at the end of 2021, as well as the historical links with the Principality of Monaco
